Europe markets close higher following inflation report

Major European stock indexes closed higher on Wednesday as investors processed the latest inflation report released by the bloc. According to Eurostat, inflation in the euro area stood at 10% year-on-year in November, while on a month-on-month basis, the consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.1%.

In other news, it was known that the bloc is seeking to set up new rules on crypto markets after the FTX saga, and reports emerged that despite some dissent, members of the EU are likely to set a ceiling on Russian oil prices at $62.

At the close, the DAX gained 0.29%, with Daimler up by 3.25%. The CAC 40 added 1.04%, while Louis Vuitton improved by 5.03%, and the FTSE 100 rose 1.01%, as Antofagasta increased by 4.14%.

The euro was down by 0.13% against the dollar at 5:27 pm CET, selling for $1.03122. In comparison, the pound fell by 0.15% to go for $1.19283 at the same time.
