INEOS Group Limited announced on Tuesday it has presented Manchester United FC with a formal purchase offer.

"We have formally put ourselves into the process," the company's spokesperson told The Times. They did not disclose the sum in question.

INEOS Chairman, co-founder, and owner of two-thirds of the firm's stake, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, previously expressed his interest in buying Manchester United. Meanwhile, it was reported that the club's current owners, Joel and Avram Glazer, are considering selling it.
