Tesla Inc. registered a 33% weekly boost after revealing that its revenue for the fourth quarter totaled $24.3 billion, putting the automaker's stock on track to have its best week since May 2013.

Investors drew optimism from the released data on the US gross domestic product that further expanded in the final trimester of 2022, with the survey by the University of Michigan indicating a modest recovery in consumer confidence at the start of the year.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.08% higher, with American Expresses jumping 10.55%. The Nasdaq 100 surged 0.96%, as Lucid Group skyrocketed 43%. The S&P 500 rose 0.25%, with Tesla Inc. soaring 11%. The euro slipped 0.24% against the dollar, to sell at $1.08656 at 3:59 pm ET.
