Cryptocurrency platform Gemini revealed on Tuesday that it will join forces with Mastercard and WebBank to launch the "first-of-a-kind cryptocurrency rewards credit card" in the United States this summer.

The Gemini Credit Card had been announced in January 2021 and "amassed more than 140,000 people on its waitlist" since then, the company said. Gemini, founded in 2014 by brothers Cameron (pictured left) and Tyler Winklevoss (pictured right), stressed the main advantages of the new card will be getting "3% back on qualifying purchases" in cryptocurrencies available on the platform, which will be delivered in real-time and with no annual fee for the card.

"Cardholders can access exclusive offers with select merchants such as DoorDash, HelloFresh, Lyft and ShopRunner," Gemini also noted.
