European indexes closed higher after BoJ decision

Major stock markets finished in the green on Friday, after the Bank of Japan decided to introduce negative benchmark interest rate.

The FTSE 100 closed 2.56% up, with Barclays Plc among the major winning stocks, with a 4.26% increase. Unilever Plc added 3.99%, while Vodafone closed 2.90% higher.

The DAX ended the day with a 1.64% gain. Vonovia SE NA O.N. was the best performer, closing 4.38% higher. Henkel added 3.06%, while Deutsche Telekom was 3.02% up.

French CAC 40 rose 2.19%. Airbus Group and Safran Group were on the winner side, increasing 5.09% and 4.03%, respectively. ArcelorMittal was leading the loses among the indicator’s constituents, plummeting 5.87%, followed by Peugeot’s 1.01% decline and Technip’s 0.9% decrease.

The euro depreciated 0.96% against the greenback to 1.0835, 0.11% against the Swiss franc to 1.1080, and gained 0.08% against the British pound to 0.7628 (all 6:55 p.m. CET).
