Chinese markets rise on upbeat trade data

Stocks in Asia-Pacific were mostly higher in Tuesday's afternoon session as investors digested better-than-expected trade balance figures from China and the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) decision to keep interest rates unchanged.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.82% at 7:14 am CET. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite jumped 0.98% at 7:13 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite gained 0.65% at 7:00 am CET.

Japan's Nikkei 225 climbed 0.88% at 7:11 am CET, reaching the highest level since April after Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga announced he will step down later this month. The dollar was flat against the yen, selling for 109.8090 at 7:13 am CET.

Meanwhile, South Korea's Kospi fell 0.53% at 7:15 am CET and Australia's S&P/ASX was down 0.10% at the same time.
