Asian markets mostly lower after data

Equities on major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region were mostly below the flatline on Wednesday as investors remained focused on today's economic data.

In Mainland China, the Shanghai Composite decreased 0.19% at 7:20 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite slid 0.31% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.43% at 7:21 am CET.

Japanese Nikkei 225 jumped 0.66% at 7:21 am CET. The dollar was flat against the yen, to go for ¥110.3620 at 7:21 am CET.

South Korean Kospi Composite fell 0.80% at 7:22 am CET. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 tumbled 0.33% 7:22 am CET.
