Europe ends higher after ECB minutes

European markets closed with gains on Thursday as investors digested German GDP data and the European Central Bank's (ECB) latest meeting minutes. The ECB noted that the medium-term inflation outlook improved and that it expects to end net purchases under the PEPP by March 2022.

The FTSE 100 added 0.33% with Whitbread, up 2.78%, leading the gains.

The DAX rose 0.25%. The best performer was RWE whose shares rallied 6.42%.

The CAC 40 increased by 0.43% with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield climbing 3.01%.

The euro was up 0.09% against the dollar to go for 1.12149 at 5:29 pm CET, while the pound lost 0.06% compared to the greenback to sell for 1.33235 at the same time.
