Israel changes advice on booster timeline

Monday, 27. December 2021 16:49

Israel will shorten the recommended wait between the COVID-19 vaccine's second dose and the booster shot from five months to three months, the country's Health Ministry Director-General Nachman Ash said to the press on Monday.

He explained that the new advice will pertain to all three vaccines in use in the country, and urged people to get the third dose of the same vaccine they were initially inoculated with.

The largest number of people in Israel were given a vaccine developed by Pfizer Inc. The ones made by AstraZeneca plc and Moderna Inc. were approved later.
