Asian markets mostly higher after Chinese data

Stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Monday after China released its latest GDP, retail sales and industrial production figures. Meanwhile, North Korea reportedly conducted another missile launch earlier in the day.

The Nikkei 225 rose by 0.74% at the close. The Shanghai Composite increased by 0.62% at 6:45 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index advanced 1.53% at 7:01 am CET. The Hang Seng contracted by 0.97% at the same time. The Kospi was down 1.55% at 7:02 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia closed with a 0.32% gain.

The dollar was 0.25% higher compared to the Japanese yen at 7:03 am CET, trading for 114.4765.
