The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said on Thursday it has recommended the use of a COVID-19 drug developed by AstraZeneca plc.

The agency issued a statement explaining that the drug, named Evusheld, can be used in those above the age of 12 who have not yet been exposed to the virus.

The drug contains artificially made antibodies meant to contain the virus if it enters the organism, the developer explained.
