Europe lower premarket, DAX down 200 pts

Major European stock market indexes traded lower in the premarket session on Monday, as investors await the release of data reports. German retail sales decreased by 2.7% in real terms on a yearly basis in March. German manufacturing PMI will be released later during the day, along with the EU consumer confidence and the EU manufacturing PMI reports.

The DAX plunged 1.43% or 201 at 8:05 am CET, while the CAC 40 fell 1.40% a minute later. The FTSE 100 will be closed today due to the Early May Bank Holiday.

The euro was down by 0.21% against the dollar at 7:59 am CET, selling for 1.05111. The pound lost 0.28% versus the greenback and went for 1.25407 at the same time.
