Explosion at Google site in Iowa leaves 3 seriously injured

An explosion at a Google data site in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States, caused by an electrical incident, left three electricians severely injured, according to the regional police department. The incident occurred at around noon, local time, the police department shared with SFGATE.

Google spokesperson Devon Smiley told SFGATE that "the health and safety of all workers is our absolute top priority, and we are working closely with partners and local authorities to thoroughly investigate the situation and provide assistance as needed."

At 4:00 am CET, about 40,000 users around the globe were experiencing an outage on Google's search engine, DownDetector.com showed.
