Asia continues to trade lower after US close

Equities in Asia-Pacific continued to trade lower on Wednesday following yesterday's trading session in the United States when the S&P 500 almost touched a new low in 2022 and amid the global economic situation and fears of recession.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite dropped by 1.03% at 7:07 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite going down by 1.78% two minutes later. The dollar traded 0.11% lower against the yen to go for ¥144.6610 at 7:10 am CET, as the Australian S&P 200 declined by 0.77% a minute earlier.

At 7:06 am CET, Hong Kong's Hang Seng went down by 2.37% and South Korea's Kospi Composite lost 2.95%. Japan's Nikkei 225 decreased by 2.18% at the same time.
