European markets close mixed after choppy session

European stock markets closed mixed on Monday after a choppy session marked by the release of new economic data on housing, industrial production, and investor confidence.

Previously, Sentix said investor confidence in the Eurozone for November improved, with the Investor Confidence Index coming in at negative 30.9. Besides, it was also known that industrial production in Germany was 0.6% higher on a monthly basis in September, while in the UK, house prices increased by 8.3% in October.

At the close, the DAX gained 0.55%, with Covestro up by 3.42%. The CAC 40 was flat, while Renault improved by 3.77%, and the FTSE 100 declined by 0.48%, as GSK plc dropped by 4.57%.

The euro was up by 0.40% against the dollar at 5:28 pm CET, selling for $0.99981. In comparison, the pound gained 0.75% to go for $1.14648 at the same time.
