Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick (pictured) said Thursday that he believes the company can "win this challenge." His words are in relation to a recent decision announced by the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to file a lawsuit to block Microsoft's proposed $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

"This sounds alarming, so I want to reinforce my confidence that this deal will close. The allegation that this deal is anti-competitive doesn't align with the facts," said Kotick in a letter to employees.

"We believe these arguments will win despite a regulatory environment focused on ideology and misconceptions about the tech industry," concluded the letter.
