Major European indexes opened in the green on Wednesday after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a ban on selling oil to countries that imposed a price cap on the country's oil. Elsewhere, investors focused on the COVID-19 situation in Asia after Hong Kong announced easing restrictions. The Euro Stoxx 50 traded 0.12% higher at 9:02 am CET. The FTSE 100 rose 0.45% at 9:00 am CET. National Grid led the gains, rallying 3.12%. The DAX was up 0.11% at 9:01 am CET. The best performer was Siemens Healthineers, climbing 0.59%. The CAC 40 added 0.13% at 9:01 am CET as Renault rose 0.57%. The euro gained 0.06% against the dollar to sell for 1.06475 at 9:01 am CET and the pound increased 0.21% compared to the US currency to go for 1.20532 at the same time. |
