Europe opens lower after data

Equities on major European stock markets were in the red territory at the start of trading sessions on Friday after the release of the economic data reports on the United Kingdom's GDP, trade balance and industrial production in January and Germany's inflation rate in February.

The DAX declined 0.56% at 9:03 am CET as Daimler dropped 2.29% and lead the losses at 9:05 am CET. London's FTSE 100 was 0.15% lower at 9:00 am CET with property developer Berkeley Group Holdings plummeting 6.15% at 9:02 am CET. The CAC 40 lost 0.09% at 9:01 am as STMicroelectronics fell by 1.45% at 9:04 am CET.

The euro was 0.37% down compared to the dollar at 8:59 am CET, trading for 1.19446. The British pound decreased by 0.35% against the American currency, going for 1.39422 at the same time.
