Europe opens mostly flat ahead of economic data

Major stock markets in Europe started Thursday's trading session mostly flat, as investors eagerly waited for the release of the May services sector activity reports for the European Union, United Kingdom, and Germany. Meanwhile, the fight against the pandemic carries on with France aiming to start vaccinating adolescents in mid-June, and Germany saying they may increase their vaccine supply to ward off future pandemics.

The DAX opened 0.08% in the red, as Linde plc was down 0.53%. The FTSE 100 and the CAC 40 stood flat at the opening bell, with Mondi plc and Saint Gobain increasing 0.82% and 3.02% respectively.

The euro decreased 0.20% against the dollar trading for $1.21871 at 9:03 am CET, while the pound declined 0.13% against the American currency trading for $1.41532 at the same time.
