Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe revealed on Wednesday that the country will keep current foreign entry rules until end-August. However, he said that Japan will "gradually" allow foreigners to enter the country "with permission."

Abe confirmed that event restrictions will also last until the end of the next month, claiming that the "coronavirus situation is different [now] compared to April."

One of the biggest troubles for Japan came from the delay of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The event's organizing committee chief Yoshiro Mori recently said the future of the Games highly depends on the COVID-19 vaccine.
