Qualcomm CEO sees 'improvement' in chip supply

Qualcomm Inc CEO Steve Mollenkopf (pictured) stressed on Saturday he started to see "improvement" in reducing chip shortages that hit companies around the world, especially for those using "mature nodes," adding that "the recovery is more complex for advanced nodes."

"There's an ability for the market to respond more quickly to some of the older nodes than the newer nodes, so depending on the product, you may be in a position to get some improvement," he said at the China Development Forum in Beijing.

Previously, United States President Joe Biden signed an executive order to address semiconductor shortages that hit carmakers worldwide, claiming that "weaknesses in the supply chains" could harm the country's "competitiveness" in the global market.
