IBM buys Turbonomic for app performance management

International Business Machines (IBM) Corporation announced on Thursday the acquisition of Turbonomic software company, aimed at assuring application performance using AI (artificial intelligence) and cutting costs.

After purchasing Turbonoimic, IBM became the only company to be able to provide customers with services that use AI to automate IT operations and observe applications and infrastructure. The latest acquisition also correlates with IBM's decision to buy Instana company and the launch of IBM Cloud Park.

"IBM continues to reshape its future as a hybrid cloud and AI company. The Turbonomic acquisition is yet another example of our commitment to making the most impactful investments to advance this strategy and ensure customers find the most innovative ways to fuel their digital transformations," said Rob Thomas, IBM's senior vice-president.
