Asia mixed after BoJ stays cautious about COVID impact

Asian stock markets traded mixed on Thursday after the release of the Bank of Japan (BoJ) meeting minutes. The bank's members agreed to continue with monetary easing and pointed out uncertainties regarding the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and its impact on the economy.

The Nikkei 225 was up by 2.00% at 4:41 am CET. Hang Seng added 0.34& at the same time. The S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.40% at 4:42 am CET. The Kospi Composite improved by 0.73% at 4:22 am CET.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite was flat at 4:42 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite dropped 1.83% at 4:44 am CET.

The dollar traded 0.16% higher compared to the yen, selling for 109.3740 at 4:45 am CET.
