Asia trades lower following China report |

Equities in the Asia-Pacific region traded lower on Tuesday following the release of the latest economic report from China, which showed that inflation in the country was up by 0.9% in April. Meanwhile, the Bank of Japan stated that while the economic recovery was expected, the outlook still remained uncertain. In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite was down 1.14% at 4:22 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite declined by 1.21% at 4:38 am CET.
The Hang Seng fell 1.96% at 4:39 am CET, while the Nikkei 225 decreased by 2.75% at the same time. The Kospi Composite was 1.34% lower at 4:40 am CET, while Australia's S&P/ASX 200 lost 1.21% a minute later. The dollar gained 0.07% against the Japanese yen trading for ¥108.8780 at 4:42 am CET. |
