Asia-Pacific mostly lower following data

Major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly lower on Wednesday following the latest economic news coming from Japan. The country's industrial output rose in March, but fell below analyst's expectations, as the Bank of Japan Governor stated the economy was still under pressure due to coronavirus measures. Meanwhile, markets in Hong Kong and South Korea were closed due to public holidays.

The Nikkei 225 dropped 1.66% at 7:08 am CET, with the S&P/ASX 200 index falling 1.98% at the same time. The dollar traded virtually flat against the Japanese currency trading for ¥108.9485 at 7:11 am CET

In mainland China, the Shenzen Composite traded 0.35% higher at 7:09 am CET, while the Shanghai Composite fell 0.51% concurrently.
