Putin: Russia to consider non-dollar oil settlements

Russian President Vladimir Putin revealed on Friday the government might consider settlements in non-dollar currencies for oil and gas.

Commenting on the relations with the United States, Putin said that Russian oil companies could stop using the dollar and make a "serious blow" to the American national currency, however, he noted they don't want to do that.

The euro gained 0.39% against the greenback to trade for 1.21741 at 3:26 pm CET, while the pound rose 0.63% to $1.41950. At the same time, the dollar dropped 0.59% against the yen to 109.6285.
