Asian markets mixed after Japan GDP data

Equities on the Asian markets traded mixed on Tuesday after Japan's Cabinet Office released its first-quarter GDP data which showed the value of goods and services in the country surprising investors' expectations, despite contracting by 3.9% in the three-month period.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.14% at 4:33 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shenzhen Composite traded 0.34% lower, as the Shanghai Composite stood flat.

South Korea's Kospi Composite advanced by 0.12% at 4:34 am CET and the dollar went 0.13% up against the yen, going for ¥109.3900 a minute later. At 4:35 am CET, both Japan's Nikkei 225 and the Australian S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.11%.
