Most Asian stocks down after China CPI data

Major stock market indexes in Asia traded mostly lower on Wednesday with worries about rising inflation weighing on market sentiment. Investors reacted to the consumer price data coming out of China, released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics, which saw inflation under the estimates, despite rising by 1.3% in May on an annual basis.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite added 0.18% at 4:35 am CET, with the Shenzhen Composite dropping 0.33% a minute later.

Japan's Nikkei 225 decreased by 0.33% at 4:35 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went 0.15% down a minute later, as South Korea's Kospi Composite fell 0.23%. The dollar traded 0.06% lower against the yen, going for ¥109.4455 at 4:36 am CET, with the Australian S&P/ASX 200 flat at the same time.
