Asia mixed as investors weigh inflation outlook

Major stock market indexes in Asia traded mixed on Friday with investors beginning to anticipate short-lived inflation after the pandemic, despite remaining positive about the US consumer price data which landed short of hitting a 13-year high.

On the Chinese mainland, the Shenzhen Composite traded 0.27% lower at 4:54 am CET, as Shanghai Composite lost 0.11%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng went up by 0.46% at the same time, and South Korea's Kospi Composite added 0.45% a minute later.

At 4:56 am CET, the Australian S&P/ASX 200 gained 0.19% as the dollar rose 0.07% against the yen, going for ¥109.4065. Japan's Nikkei 225 fell by 0.12% at 4:35 am CET.
