Europe closes mixed as Biden-Putin summit wraps up

Major stock markets in Europe closed mixed on Wednesday, as investors are eager to see how the outcomes of the summit between United States President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will shape global markets.

Meanwhile, the European Union stated that they are taking a new approach to Russia, and, on the COVID front, reports came out that the bloc scrapped coronavirus travel restrictions for the US and other countries.

The DAX closed 0.12% in the red, with Deutsche Bank falling 2.48%. The FTSE 100 finished 0.25% higher, as Renishaw plc increased 3.35%. The CAC 40 was up 0.19% at the closing bell, with Wordline rising 1.83%. The euro declined 0.07% against the dollar trading for $1.21175 at 5:32 pm ET, while the pound increased 0.15% selling for $1.41038 at the same time.
