Asian markets trade with gains after Japan data

Stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded in the positive territory on Monday after producer prices in Japan rose by better-than-expected 5% on a yearly basis in June. Over the weekend, it was reported that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga will host a face-to-face meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in during his upcoming visit to Tokyo.

The Nikkei 225 jumped 2.21%, or 615 points at 7:25 am CET. The Shanghai Composite increased by 0.93% at 7:10 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index rose by 1.99% at 7:26 am CET. The Hang Seng advanced 0.44% at the same time. The Kospi was up 0.97% at 7:27 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia gained 0.75% concurrently.

The dollar was flat compared to the Japanese yen at 7:27 am CET, trading for 110.1640.
