Asian shares lower amid inflation worries

Shares in the Asia-Pacific region traded lower on Wednesday as the investors digested an unexpected rise of the United States Consumer Price Index (CPI) figure for June. Meanwhile, the Japanese industrial sector's output declined by an additional 6.5% in May, performing worse than what was expected by the markets.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.65% at 7:14 am CET. On the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite decreased 0.78% at 7:00 am CET with the Shenzhen Composite down by 0.32%, at the same time.

Japan's Nikkei 225 went down by 0.34% at 7:14 am CET, while the dollar traded 0.12% lower against the yen, going for 110.4970 at the same time. South Korea's Kospi Composite concurrently declined by 0.33%. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 slid 0.23% a minute later.
