Asia trades mostly higher with economy in focus

Stock exchanges in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly higher on Thursday after China released its latest data reports on the overall economic growth, retail sales and industrial production. Meanwhile, the Bank of Korea decided not to alter its monetary policy and kept the interest rate at a record low of 0.5%.

The Nikkei 225 fell 1.20% at 7:24 am CET. The Shanghai Composite increased by 0.45% at 7:09 am CET and the Shenzhen Composite Index decreased by 0.08% at 7:24 am CET. The Hang Seng gained 1.19% a minute later. The Kospi was up 0.55% at 7:25 am CET. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia lost 0.21% concurrently.

The dollar was 0.12% lower compared to the Japanese yen at 7:26 am CET, trading for 109.8395.
