Cisco working on private cloud services - report

Cisco Systems is developing a cloud subscription service under the name Cloud Stack, that would allow companies to move their computing from public to private data centers, The Information reported on Friday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

The leading seller of computer hardware for housing and managing data is now looking to produce software to go along with it. The project is still in the early development stages but is said to have been in the works for over a year.

Cloud Stack is looking to win over businesses that are using other cloud providers, such as Amazon Web Service, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, but are unsatisfied with the high costs.
