The United States Treasury Department and State Department announced on Thursday they introduced new Iran-related sanctions, targeting 10 entities and one vessel in the petroleum and petrochemicals sector.

The new measures were introduced against companies based in Iran, as well as China, India and the United Arab Emirates, over their alleged involvement in Iran's petroleum and petrochemical trade.

"The United States is taking further action to disrupt efforts to evade sanctions on the sale of Iranian petroleum and petrochemical products," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement. "As Iran continues to accelerate its nuclear program in violation of the JCPOA, we will continue to accelerate our enforcement of sanctions on Iran’s petroleum and petrochemical sales under authorities that would be removed under the JCPOA," he added.
