US oil inventories down by 5.4M barrels - reports

Crude inventories in the United States declined by 5.4 million barrels in the week ending September 10, according to private data published by the American Petroleum Institute (API) on Tuesday.

At the same time, oil reserves in Cushing Oklahoma were down by 1.3 million barrels. Meanwhile, both the country's gasoline and distillate reserves saw losses during the same week, with the figures being reportedly down by 2.7 million and 2.9 million barrels respectively.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in October dropped 0.33% at 4:24 pm ET to sell for $70.46 per barrel. Brent for deliveries in November stood flat at the same time going for $73.64 per barrel.
