Major stock markets on Wall Street ended the week on a mixed note after a day full of economic data as well as corporate earnings. The session was marked by negative sentiment pushed by worse than expected retail sales and consumer sentiment data. Commenting on economic challenges, John Williams from New York Fed warned the current coronavirus wave would prolong issues with supply chains.

The Dow Jones plunged 0.55% or 202 points at the closing bell, with JPMorgan Chase tumbling 6.15% after earnings missed estimates. On the other hand, the Nasdaq 100 expanded by 0.75% or 115 points, pushed by tech stocks' rally. The S&P 500 traded slightly in the green. The euro sank 0.32% against the dollar to sell for 1.14154 at 3:55 pm ET.
