Europe ends higher after upbeat Chinese data |

European markets closed in the green on Monday as investors digested a string of economic data from China, as well as the news that Credit Suisse Chairman Antonio Horta-Osorio stepped down after it emerged he broke COVID-19 isolation rules. The FTSE 100 climbed 0.91%. Taylor Wimpey, whose shares rallied 4.19%, led the gains. The DAX increase 0.32%. The best performer was Fresenius Medical Care, whose shares gained 2.88%. The CAC 40 rose 0.82% with Hermes jumping 3.58%. The euro lost 0.09% against the dollar to sell for 1.14042 at 5:37 pm CET and the pound fell 0.20% compared to the US currency to go for 1.36516 at 5:38 pm CET. |
