US opens higher amid earnings season, Dow rises 100 points

After a mixed Wednesday premarket session, major stock markets on Wall Street opened higher. Earlier, Morgan Stanley beat quarterly profit expectations, while UnitedHealth's revenue jumped 12.5% in Q4. Bank of America did not trail behind either and published its results, with a net income of $7 billion, jumping 28% against 2020.

The Dow Jones jumped 0.36%, slightly more than 100 points at 9:31 am ET. Microsoft was leading the gains after yesterday's announcement of the acquisition of Activision Blizzard with a lead of 2.37%. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 expanded by 0.53%, with Pinduoduo growing 4.13%, and the S&P 500 was up 0.58%, as Fortinet rose 2.93%.

The euro gained 0.25% against the dollar to sell for 1.13460 at 9:28 am ET.
