Europe closes lower to end the week

Major European stock markets closed lower on Friday, following a report that announced Germany's business sentiment deteriorated in September. Meanwhile, Credit Suisse sold almost its entire exposure to Evergrande Group, amid the property developer’s struggle to service its debt.

Additionally, a leading British supermarket consultancy announced expected price increases of approximately 5% on supermarket shelves in the United Kingdom in the next eight weeks "due to the current supply crisis.”

The DAX traded by 0.77% lower at the closing bell. The CAC 40 went down by 0.95%. Additionally, the FTSE 100 declined by 0.38%. The euro fell 0.21% against the dollar to sell for $1.17128 at 5:45 pm CET, while the pound fell by 0.31% down to $1.36772.
