Europe closes mostly higher following ECB remarks

Major stock markets in Europe closed mostly higher on Tuesday, as investors analyzed the latest remarks on the economy by European Central Bank (ECB) officials. ECB's Rehn noted that longer inflation could alter expectations, while Lane said conditions for an interest rate hike have not been met yet.

The DAX ended the session 0.33% in the green, with Heidelbergecement AG rising 3.49%. The FTSE 100 was 0.26% higher at the closing bell, as Entain plc gained 2.82%. The CAC 40 finished the day flat.

The euro gained 0.23% against the dollar trading for $1.16372 at 5:33 pm ET, while the pound was 0.57% higher against the American currency changing hands for $1.38048 a minute later.
