Asia trades lower on fourth wave worries

Most major stock market indexes in Asia traded lower on Friday as concerns about spiking coronavirus numbers seem to be overshadowing optimism regarding vaccinations and with an increase in restrictions also weighing on market sentiment.

On the Chinese mainland, the Shenzhen Composite traded 1.10% lower at 04:30 am CET, with the Shanghai Composite down by 0.66% at 4:29 am CET. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.72% at 4:31 am CET, as South Korea's Kospi Composite went 0.34% down and the Australian S&P/ASX 200 lost 0.41%.

At 04:35 am CET the dollar traded 0.02% higher against the yen, going for ¥109.2975, while Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.37%.
