Asian shares mixed with eyes on vaccines safety

Equities on the Asian markets traded mixed on Thursday as uncertainties about the safety of coronavirus vaccines seem to be weighing on market sentiment.

Earlier, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) decided to postpone its decision on recommending the use of Johnson & Johnson's jab until more data is found on whether the shot causes blood clots.

On the Chinese mainland, the Shenzhen Composite traded 1.24% lower at 5:07 am CET, as the Shanghai Composite went down by 1.07%. At 5:08 am CET the dollar traded 0.02% lower against the yen, going for ¥108.9115, as Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.98%. South Korea's Kospi Composite increased by 0.19% and the Australian S&P/ASX 200 added 0.08% at 5:10 am CET. Japan's Nikkei 225 added 0.12% at 4:35 am CET.
