South Korean Prime Minister Kim Boo-kyum stated the country will receive 1.3 million doses of Moderna Inc.'s vaccines against COVID-19 next week.

The delivery is a part of the country's plan to start inoculating those under the age of 50 and have 70% of its population immunized by September.

South Korea approved the use of Moderna's vaccine back in May. In the meantime, the country made an agreement with the company to start producing its jab within its own territory.
