British Airways could opt for a sale of its headquarters located in the vicinity of the Heathrow airport in London, the Financial Times reported on Thursday, citing an internal email it reviewed.

Stuart Kennedy, the company's director of people, wrote a message to the staff, stating that "it's not clear" whether a need for "such a large office" will exist in the future, with more people working from home.

The decision-making process is still in its early stages, and it remains to be seen what option the company will choose, the outlet wrote, adding that Heathrow could build another runway in the complex' place if the airline decides to sell.
