European markets closed with gains on Thursday after notching record highs earlier in the session. The gains come as investors digested corporate earnings reports and stocks on Wall Street rallied on hopes of economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.

In other news, German company Curevac said its coronavirus vaccine is in the final stage of development, somewhat easing concerns sparked by issues with the AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson jabs.

The DAX closed 0.34% in the green as Deutsche Wohnen led the gains on news Berlin's rent cap was struck down by Germany’s constitutional court. The CAC 40 jumped 0.41% at the close; advertising company Publicis Groupe was the top performer, rising 3.38%. The FTSE 100 gained 0.63% in London at the end of trading with GSK surging nearly 5%.
