Europe opens mostly higher after data

European stock exchanges opened mostly higher on Friday after Germany's non-adjusted foreign trade surplus was reported to be at €10.7 billion in August, down from €17.9 billion in July.

London's FTSE 100 was 0.21% higher at 9:01 am CET, with Anglo American PLC gaining 1.22% at 9:16 am CET. The CAC 40 gained 0.15% a minute later, with Alstom CA leading the board with a 0.64% increase at 9:18 am CET. The DAX lost 0.03% at 9:03 am CET.

The euro fell 0.05% in comparison to the dollar at 8:58 am CET, selling for 1.15463. The British pound decreased by 0.16% against the dollar, trading for 1.35968 at the same time.
