Europe opens higher with focus on German data

Major stock markets in Europe opened higher on Monday, as investors waited for the release of the latest data reports on the state of Germany's economy. Meanwhile, reports indicated that the United Kingdom may raise the minimum wage, as the country renews its push to end the pandemic.

The DAX opened 0.24% in the green, with MTU Aero Engines rising 1.07%. The FTSE 100 was up by 0.43% at the starting bell, as Antofagasta climbed 1.95%. The CAC 40 began 0.71% higher, led by ArcelorMittal increasing 1.43%.

The euro stood flat against the dollar trading for $1.16426 at 9:02 am CET, while the pound gained 0.10% on the American currency to change hands for $1.37740 at the same time.
