European markets opened mostly lower Wednesday ahead of the release of the latest Eurozone Gross Domestic Product (GDP) report. Market participants also await the release of the bloc's employment data. In other news, Halifax stated earlier that house prices in the United Kingdom dropped to 4.7% in November compared to the same month in 2021, while Destatis revealed that industrial production in Germany saw a slight fall of 0.1% in October. The DAX lost 0.27% at 9:02 am CET, with Adidas down by 0.34%. The CAC 40 fell 0.58%, while Alstom decreased by 2.60%, and the FTSE 100 rose 0.47% a minute later, as Ferguson advanced by 2.21%. The euro and the British pound were flat at 8:57 am CET, selling for $1.04634 and $1.21325 simultaneously. |
