Apple Inc. announced on Wednesday it is launching the second generation of HomePod, its wireless smart speaker, which features advanced technology that will enable "a groundbreaking listening experience."

The new HomePod can be ordered online starting today for $299 in the United States. Apart from the US, orders are at the moment available in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, China, Japan, Canada, Australia, and 11 other countries and regions. The first deliveries will begin on February 3.

"Leveraging our audio expertise and innovations, the new HomePod delivers rich, deep bass, natural mid-range, and clear, detailed highs," Apple's worldwide marketing senior vice president of Greg Joswiak commented.
